NEWTOWN ACTION ALLIANCE CALL FOR CITIZENS TO JOIN DEMONSTRATION AT NATIONAL SHOOTING SPORTS FOUNDATION HQ

Newtown - We are entering the most critical period for legislative action to curb gun violence nationally, and in Connecticut. At the same time, the gun lobby is pulling out all of the stops to fight any change from the status quo. They won’t even support universal background checks, something that the vast majority of Americans, including gun owners support. This includes the National Sports Shooting Foundation, the second largest gun lobby, headquartered here in Newtown.

It is such a critical time that our friends at Mayors Against Illegal Guns have declared this Thursday as National Demand Action Day. As such, we will join the growing number of Newtown residents who have been demonstrating in front of the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) over the last few weeks. We call on all concerned citizens who are tired of politicians catering to the gun lobby to bring their signs and join us to demonstrate in front of the NSSF’s headquarters (11 Mile Hill Rd.) this Thursday, March 28th at 4:30pm. Come and demand that our lawmakers listen to their constituents, and not the special interests like the NRA and the NSSF.

WHERE: National Shooting Sports Foundation Headquarters, 11 Mile Hill Road, Newtown, CT (Park single file, on Tinkerfield Rd., across the street).

WHO: Anyone who wants their lawmakers to put the needs and safety of their constituents before those of the gun lobby.
